If you know the boys of Fuzzymoto, then you'll know that things will get done taking their own sweet time. There's real time, kept in check with clocks, watches, the ebb and flow of night and day, and atomic clocks measuring the constant decay rate of atoms; and then there's Fuzzymoto time - an odd combination of stoner's logic and quantam physics held together with silly putty. So with that said, Fuzzymoto is currently taking some "time" to record their first album. They've committed themselves to the idea of taking February off so that they can focus on the task at hand. Using Fuzzymoto time, this could mean that they have something like 27 days to procrastinate and one day of hard work ahead of them, or it could actually mean that Fuzzymoto might actually get off their asses and record some of the tunes you've been hearing in their live shows. Right now as it stands, they've got partial recordings of several songs, lots of killer jams that didn't record because somebody forgot to hit the "record" button and/or somebody forgot to plug in a microphone, or a few songs that start out great and about twenty minutes later end up with amplified farting noises. Nothing a little bud, perserverance, Troy's motivating talks, Giggle's general concern for what people think, a few good West/Northwest combo swells, and good old fashioned determination can't resolve. Fuzzymoto's first CD (title still in progress) will contain 10-12 songs and will venture into various musical territories including funk, reggae, and bluegrass. Of course, it will contain plenty of jam sections. Many of the songs you will recognize from their shows. The album will include Fuzzymoto "hits" such as "Grass Stains", "Get On The Bus", "Shove Off", "Grateful Man", "Let's Pretend (Tonight We're Old Friends)", "Mota Mexicana", "Nino's Revenge", "Ptarmigan's Tunnel", "Sure To Rise", "Lay You Down", "In A Funk", and a couple of current unnamed jams. So with that said, you can start hearing some of the fruits of their labors at their next show. See you there
1.10.05 - Rain in the uh... rain!
Despite a vicious rain storm, Fuzzymoto's performance and Rain was a lot of fun. Troy's voice was back in full form, and the band was feeling loose, jamming out quite a few song. Perhaps it was opening the night with "Pigs" that set the tone. Fuzzymoto was stoked to see some familiar faces, and we would like to thank those of you that braved the stormy night. We also got to meet some of the guys from Area Product and had the opportunity to check out their set. Sweet stuff. We'd also like to thank Kyle and everyone at Rain for inviting us to play.
12.30.04 - Fuzzymoto t-shirts have arrived
Give the people what they want! The first batch of t-shirts have been pulled from the Fuzzymoto brain-oven. Right now they are only available at Fuzzymoto shows, but soon you will be able to visit our swag section and buy them online. They come in brown or black and are available in XL, L, and women's sizes. All shirts are $12.00.
12.14.04 - The X-mas tree broke!
The Gypsy Lounge X-Mas party was nothing short of a spectacle. For the first time Fuzzymoto had people moshing to their music. One guy even executed a stage dive into the floor. Needless to say there was copious alcohol involved. Free drinks just added fuel to the fire. Fuzzymoto also performed "Sweet Home Alabama" for the first time with some guy who hopped up and belted it out. That was a first. In fact, afterwords it was confirmed that no one had ever played that song before, let alone live and in front of an audience. Troy who was losing his voice, decided to drink a twelve pack to dowse the pain, and to keep his throat moist. After about beer number 10, he was witnessed raising his arms victoriously and shouting: "They fucking love us!". To save Troy the trouble of a night in jail and a fat DUI, Ham ended up driving him home. Fuzzymoto had a lot of fun and we would like to thank Mike and the whole crew at Gypsy Lounge for inviting us to play.
12.06.04 - PSS Benefit resulted in a accidental Rain Dance
PSS was a success. Project Self-Sufficiency received some X-mas Cheer thanks to everyone that showed up and generously donated. Even the rain gods heard the show, because partway through the second set they showered us with their appreciation. So despite the show ending rather abruptly, we'd like to thank the Leach Family for being such gracious hosts. We had a great time.
